Hands-on editing never costs credits — cut, trim, arrange, caption, export as much as you like. Credits pay for the thinking: analysis and agent jobs, and only when a job succeeds.
What are credits?
Credits are what AI jobs run on. Different jobs cost different amounts — lip-syncing a dub costs more than producing a soundtrack. When the price depends on your footage length, Cuts shows the cost up front before running.
Do unused credits roll over?
Plan credits reset with each billing period and don't roll over. Credit packs are different: they kick in after your plan credits run out, and they never expire.
What if I run out?
On Pro, grab a credit pack and keep going. On Free, upgrade — or wait for your monthly reset.
Am I charged for failed jobs?
No. Credits are spent only when a job succeeds. If something fails, it costs nothing.
Does exporting cost credits?
No. Credits are spent only when AI does the work — analysis or generation. Mechanical actions like trimming, tweaking, and exporting are free. Your finished reel is never held hostage.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free. Subscribed on the web? Cancel in your account settings. Through the iOS app? Cancel in your Apple subscription settings — canceling on a different platform won't stop billing.
What's your refund policy?
The Free plan exists so you can try everything before paying. Web purchases are generally non-refundable, but if something went wrong, email support@ferment.run and we'll try to make it right. App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What happens to my videos if I downgrade?
They're yours and they stay yours. If you're over the Free storage limit, your library becomes read-only until you're back under — and we'll notify you before anything is removed.
Can I post what I make commercially?
Yes. You own your footage and the output Cuts makes for you — on Free and Pro alike. No commercial-rights upsell.
Is my footage private?
Yes. Cuts isn't a social platform — nothing you upload is public, shared with other users, or sold. You decide if and where it gets posted.
